As an undertone to that increase, there is a growing number of unmet care cases, estimating around 1.2 million people who are not receiving the help they need, an increase of 18% from last year.

Undoubtedly, care providers and their staff are under huge pressure. While the need for adult social care continues to rise, the number of beds in nursing homes has fallen by 4,000 in two years. What we can take from this is that yes, overall quality has improved, but sadly, there is too much variation leading to the deterioration of some services.
