3 Finalists in the Great British Care Awards 2023!

We are so proud to announce that Bridgewater Day Care has 3 finalists in the Great British Care Awards 2023!
Our wonderful finalists in this year’s awards are:
- Rebecca Heywood – The Care Newcomer Award
- Joanne Hemsley – The Dementia Care Award
- Diane Springall – The Dignity in Care Award
The Great British Care Awards are an annual awards celebration, and a chance to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work and celebrate excellence across the care sector as a whole.
There are 21 awards categories in total, which represent different areas of the care sector and specialist services within care, including residential care, home care and day care.
We are truly proud of our team for being nominated and selected as finalists for 3 categories in this year’s awards.
Our finalist categories are:
The Care Newcome Award – Rebecca Heywood
This award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate a new member of staff who ideally commenced and remained in employment in the care sector within the previous 12 months. The individual can either be returning to the sector after at least two years away or be joining for the first time.]
The Dementia Care Award – Joanne Hemsley
This award will be given to an individual who can reflect the specific skills needed to manage and deliver services sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia, and which reflects an awareness of the provider organization that investment in this type of service provision will meet increasing demand in the future.
The Dignity in Care Award – Diane Springall
This award will be presented to an individual who can demonstrate the significance of maximising client independence and choice, whilst respecting and maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
The finals for the awards will be held on 11th November 2023 at the Kimpton Hotel in Manchester, so please join us in wishing our wonderful finalists the best of luck and success for the final!
Each of our finalists will undergo a final interview with the judges before the winners are decided upon and announced at the awards event in November. Best of luck, ladies – we are all rooting for you!

At Bridgewater Day Care we provide a home-away-from-home environment for clients to relax, socialise and receive much needed personal care and support where required. From our day centre in Golborne, Cheshire, we provide one-to-one person-centred care to elderly clients and those living with a form of dementia, to help them live well and enjoy a safe, comfortable space, daily.
It is our mission to ensure that our clients have access to a daily, caring service in a homely environment, where they can receive personal care, emotional support, a bathing service, hydration support and medication assistance where required. We believe this enables our clients to continue living with dignity and independence, where they might otherwise risk social isolation or neglect their own self-care.
At Bridgewater Day Care we are extremely passionate about what we do, and strive to make the day centre a place that both clients and staff alike feel comfortable in and enjoy their time they spend there.
