All the clients at Bridgewater Day Care in Golborne have been having a wonderfully busy festive time over the last few weeks.
Firstly, the beautiful Christmas tree and decorations brought cheer to the centre.
The Day Care team and clients also had fun celebrating #ElfDay on 4th December whilst raising awareness and fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society. Families affected by dementia have been devastated by the coronavirus crisis – with a reported 4 in 5 people’s symptoms deteriorating from being cut off from loved ones and the support networks they rely on. We are so thankful that we can still see our clients here at the Day Care Centre and that we have been able to remain open throughout the pandemic.
All the activities for Elf Day were made by the fabulous day care staff. Who doesn’t like a bit of hook a duck! Some of Santa’s little helpers below who helped our clients to have the best #elfday and it was so lovely to see our clients smiling faces and to see them taking part in the fun games at the Day Care Centre for such a wonderful charity.
Christmas Card competition
We also announced the winner of our Christmas card design competition. The winners were brother and sister Leon, age 7 and Grace, age 2 with a very creative Rudolph design. Thank you to all the young people who entered. Our clients were thrilled to see them and they all deserved to win.
It’s so important to send Christmas cards and letters, as a way to connect with people to help end loneliness for those on their own this festive period.
Christmas Jumper Day
Over the years, Bridgewater Day Care has loved to take part in #ChristmasJumperDay .This year was no exception and our day care team and some of our clients took part on Friday 10th December in aid of Save the Children UK.
Christmas Meals
The festivities don’t stop here though as we have started Christmas meals this week from Monday 14th December, and all activities will be Christmas themed! Unfortunately, the children who would normally join us will not be able to come and do the carol singing this year but we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to see them in 2021!
Opening Hours
We will also be open between Christmas and New Year on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th December. Places need to be booked and all active clients will receive a booking form. Thank you so much to all our clients, families, friends and supporters who have helped to bring cheer to a very challenging year so far.
