Get to know your Bridgewater Day Care Team!

2nd Feb 2023

If you haven’t been introduced to us before, we are Bridgewater Day Care, a friendly ‘home-away-from-home’ day care service for older people and those living with a form a dementia.

We provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for clients to socialise, receive care and support and engage in stimulating activities from the comfort of our Day Care Centre in Golborne, Cheshire.

Since 2014 we have been supporting clients across the local community, providing them and their families with a daily respite service, assisting them with personal care, lunch time meals, stimulating activities, reminiscence therapy, and much, much more!

Here are our friendly Bridgewater Day Care Team!

“Hi, I’m Lisa, Day Centre Manager at Bridgewater Day Care. I live locally in Golborne and joined Bridgewater Day Care in 2014.

Since looking after my dad who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, I became his registered carer and knew that this was the career path I wanted to take.

Initially I started in care as a bank nurse at Leigh Infirmary and then moved to work for home care services.  I went to college to study Health and Social Care and passed my NVQ Level 2, I have also completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management and wish to progress my career in Health and Social Care, in particular around Dementia / Memory loss.

I find it so rewarding to have a job that makes me feel that I have made a difference to people’s lives, to help them with their independence, to have a better life, to support people and watch their confidence grow is fantastic whilst their family and loved ones know they are in safe hands and being well looked after.

I can honestly say it is a pleasure to come to work and spend my days with lovely people here at Bridgewater Day Care!”

“Hi my name is Joanne, Senior Support Worker at Bridgewater Day Care.

I live in Abram with my husband, 3 girls and 3 dogs.

I have worked supporting people for many years.  I started at Bridgewater Day Care in May 2021.  Each day is different and there is lots going on to keep everyone smiling.”

“Hi my name is Diane, Activities Coordinator at Bridgewater Day Care.

I joined the Bridgewater team in April 2021.  I live in Birchwood, Warrington with my husband and we have a daughter and two grand-daughters.

On my first day at Bridgewater after meeting the lovely Clients and the amazing Staff I couldn’t stop smiling – and I haven’t stopped since! I love chatting to the Clients and hearing their stories. Every day is different and I love coming to work.  I’ve completed my initial training and am looking forward to learning more, particularly about Dementia.”

“Hi I’m Chloe. I’m a Support Worker and I started working here in October 2021.

I am 25 and I live in Ashton-in-Makerfield. I have worked in the home care sector previously and I looked after my Grandad for a number of years, who sadly developed vascular dementia.

I felt privileged to join the Bridgewater family and I look forward to working here each day.

Getting to know the clients has been amazing and I find helping them so rewarding. I have completed my initial training here and I look forward to expanding my knowledge.”

“Hi, my name is Donna, Support Worker at Bridgewater Day Care. I live locally in Golborne and I have one daughter.

I have been working at Bridgewater Day Care Centre since the beginning of July 2017.

It is an amazing place to work and I love engaging with all our clients. I was awarded “Day Care – Carer of the Year 2017,” which I was very proud to receive. I feel very honoured to be doing the job I do every day.”

“Hi my name is Becky, I live in Wigan with my husband, daughter and cat.

I joined the Bridgewater team in July 2022 as a Support Worker and have never looked back.

Every day is different as is every client but what I love the most is how rewarding the job is.

The clients are wonderful and the team has a real family feel, this makes it an absolute pleasure to come to work.  I am proud to say I work for Bridgewater Day Care.”
