Our Day Out at Pennington Flash

Last Friday our Bridgewater Day Care clients enjoyed a truly memorable day out at Pennington Flash to enjoy the beautiful nature, fresh air and wonderful company.
Organised by the dedicated Bridgewater Day Care team, and made possible with the generous support of Murphy Group and their volunteers, this outing was a shining example of community spirit in action.
Murphy Group kindly provided transport for the day and a group of wonderful volunteers to accompany our clients, as part of their social ‘Walk and Talks’ sessions that are regularly held at Pennington Flash.
Hosted by John Moore, their Senior Cultural Development Programme coach, the Walk and Talk is an initiative that encourages teams to connect, reflect, and enjoy the benefits of nature. We were delighted to be part of such a wonderful day where our clients could make amazing memories and socialise in such a beautiful setting.
Our clients enjoyed a stroll around the park, enjoying the views, nature and all the park has to see, including wildlife and beautiful surroundings. It was also a chance to socialise and reminisce about their favourite outings and places to visit from their past.
John, Senior Cultural Development Programme coach commented:
“Arriving at Bridgewater Day Care with Ambulance minibus we could feel the excitement and anticipation from those joining us today on our adventure to Pennington Flash.
“The singing in the bus was special, and when we arrived at the Flash this continued along with storytelling, reminiscing, sometimes just soaking in the views and positive vibes of this beautiful space.”
“Lots of tea and coffee was drunk along with lots of ice creams at the café there.”
“When leaving all the group thanked the staff and barrier attendants for their help and support. As the participants arrived back at the day centre their appreciation and gratitude of what had just happened was magical.”
