Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

At Bridgewater Day Care we recognise and understand the challenges that are faced by people of all ages living with a form of dementia.

It is all the more important that a loved one receives the right quality of care by care workers who are well-trained in supporting and caring for those living with Dementia.  Bridgewater Day Care is a ‘home away from home’ environment that really does become a second home to our clients.  This enables a person living with dementia to stay as independent as possible in their own home, close to family and friends.

Bridgewater Day Care offers a purpose built, safe and secure environment for those living with a form of Dementia.  The care team at Bridgewater Day Care are highly trained in the care of adults with a form of Dementia.  All the members of our care team take their QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care which ensures a deep understanding of providing excellent care and support to vulnerable adults.

There are a variety of techniques used at the Day Centre to encourage and stimulate clients who visit the centre.  Bridgewater Day Care uses Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) for the clients who access services at the day centre.  CST is a form of therapy which includes mental stimulation through themed activities.  At the day centre we provide Maintenance CST which is a long term version of CST, sessions aim to actively stimulate and engage people with dementia, whilst providing an optimal learning environment and the social benefits of a group.  All Bridgewater Care staff are, or are working to become, Dementia Friends with the management of the day centre achieving Dementia Champion status – so you can rest assured that your loved ones are in excellent hands.
