8th Dec 2021
The Day Care team and clients went to lots of effort dressing up and had fun celebrating Elf Day 2021 on 3rd December whilst raising awareness and fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society.
There are approximately 400 types of dementia, with the most common types being Alzheimer’s’ disease and vascular dementia.
Caring for someone living with dementia changes every day. As a cognitive condition, dementia affects everyone in different ways. Someone living with vascular dementia will respond differently to a person living with frontotemporal dementia.
Our knowledge of our clients helps us to respond confidently and give the best care.
We had a fun-packed day with plenty of games, crafts, a tombola, dancing and of course a cake sale to raise money for people affected by dementia and their families.
We have been informed by Wigan council transport services that there will be no transport available from 25th December to 3rd January and therefore, The Day Centre will be closed from Saturday 25th December 2021 and will re-open on Tuesday 4th January 2022.
If our clients and their families have any questions or concerns, then please do not hesitate to contact
us to discuss them.
